Youth Day.

According to Wikipedia, Youth Day is celebrated on the First Sunday of July in Singapore. I didn't know that! Haha.

Anyways, spent my Youth Day waking up early to go for Church. It was Founder's Day, sort of like a day to commemorate the founding of The Salvation Army a long time ago. Got kind of sad because there was a tribute to Jim Webb whom passed away last Monday. And I realised he and his wife have been sending me a Birthday card from Melbourne every Birthday for as long as I can remember. Kind of depressing, but if I believe what he believes in then there's nothing to be sad about. =)

There was lunch at Church which was soup and bread. O.o But I wasn't hungry cause I ate a lot for breakfast.

Dance practice was canceled so I went back home. Haha. Messed around in CS3 trying out High Dynamic Range Imaging. Quite fun, although my computer is way too horribly slow to really process such images quickly, but at least Photoshop doesn't crash. =)

I think it's a rather horrible attempt. But never mind, I can always try again. Haha. And I think Photoshop is quite awesome for photograph postprocessing. =D

Progress Report.

Okay I got back my report book! Supposed to sign it I guess. =\
  • English-A2
  • Chinese-C6
  • Mathematics-E8
  • Science(P,C)-B4
  • Combined Humans(S,H)-A1
  • Geography-A1
Haha, I guess I did okay, but that Maths grade is like, [ =( ] Minghui needs help with numbers!

Oh, the remarks were: Minghui is a very jovial person who is well liked by both peers and teachers. He should be able to do well in his studies if he focused on it.

And, because I obviously have nothing better to do, I went through all the previous comments and picked out keywords. =)

  1. Cheerful (three times)
  2. Friendly (three times)
  3. Jovial (two times)
  4. In NPCC (two times)
  5. Needs to pay attention (two times)
  6. Takes pride in his work (two times)
  7. Outstanding
  8. Well-Behaved
  9. Considerate
  10. Brush up on Chinese
  11. Confident
  12. Optimistic
  13. Posses a sense of humour
  14. Focused (in sec 1)
  15. Needs to stay focused (in sec 3)
  16. Needs to focus (in sec 4)
Okay, I left out some of the longer, more unique comments though. =D Gosh, I feel very egoistic.

But the last three were kind of weird, in Sec 1 my teacher remarked that I was focused and takes pride in his work, in Sec 3 my teacher remarked that if I stay focused and work hard I am capable of improving my grades for maths, and just recently my teacher remarked that I should be able to do well if I focused on it.

I guess I am losing my focus here. =(

Forget it, I definitely need to act dao more often in class, teachers think I'm cheerful and friendly and jovial.

Okay, er, lessons on Thursday were all kind of weird. Chinese Teacher gave us this worksheet with song lyrics on it and asked us to fill in the blanks. And the song was completely unfamiliar to me, some very old song la. Then the whole class sabo-ed Yi Peng to go up front and sing. Haha.

Tried to convince Jude and Lenson that I was really together with Jemaine during Geography, but I think I failed la.

Got back our English essay too. I chose the topic on Dreams and wrote this weird superhero kind of story where this guy can see into people's dreams. Haha, I think it's a nice story though. So much more fun than solving numbers in my opinion. Heh. =D

And there was Chemistry Practical! Haha, for one part we were supposed to heat this elusive 'solution A' and observe any changes, and Lenson was slightly faster than me.

(Lenson slowlys moves test tube back and forth over Bunsen burner)
*POP*
(The entire solution turns black and smoke pours out almost instantaneously, some droplets of the solution fly out from the test tube)
Lenson: Wah....scary!!
(After a few minutes)
Minghui: Wah I very scared to heat leh... *looks up at Chemistry teacher*
Teacher: Just don't point at Lenson or me can already.
*POP*
(Same thing happens but more droplets fly out)
=X

The elusive 'solution A' was Copper(II) Chloride by the way, for those ultra nerds. :)

Went for lunch at Long John Silver with Lenson, Jun Han and Jude. Then went back to school for Maths extra lessons.

A new teacher's teaching us, and I think she's rather nice, although she spent half an hour on 1 question. =X But good larr, for slow thinking people like me. =)

Today's lessons weren't as interesting, except for maybe a Maths class test which I think I'm going to fail.

Erh, went for lunch with Lenson and Jude at the Hougang Plaza Kopitiam. Then Lenson and me went back to school cause we were asked by Ms Lim to help shoot some video for VIP.

Then, by some secret magic powers I suddenly became an actor in the video acting as an ungracious person. *Disclaimer* Minghui is actually a very gracious person by nature but sometimes his acting is just too convincing. Hahaha.

But okay la, the skit was quite funny. And I got to meet Justin whom is my exact opposite in the video and Ivan whom is the little brother and Nisha whom is the mother and Dorothy whom is the maid.

Was walking to the 136 bus stop when Stephen and Denise asked me to go to Serangoon Gardens with them.

So I went home, bathed, changed and went out again. =\

Met Wen Jie at the bus stop though, haha. Haven't seen him for a few months already, even though his school is only a few blocks from my house.

Then took 136 to Serangoon Gardens and realised suddenly that Mu Chen was on the same bus as me but I didn't notice. o.o

Then I saw my sister outside her school bus stop on the opposite side of the road. So coincidental la.

Went to Serangoon Gardens, had dinner at RK House with Stephen whilst Denise played Spider Solitaire on my laptop. Then took 136 to Church after that.

Was dissecting Joleen's pencil box and arranging all her pens and pencils and stationery in a nice organised position on the table whilst she was doing my Maths Mock Exam Paper before Cell, and I realised she had a purple Hybrid Gel Grip. O.0 I've never seen a purple HGG before. About 1 or 2 stores in Singapore sell the black, blue, silver and gold variations, but no purple. And she doesn't know where she got it from too. Hahaha.

Cell group was okay, message by Sarah was good too. Caught up with Joleen and Bryan on how their O lvl Chinese Orals went too.

Went back home. Used the computer until about 1am, and there was this like little girl playing in the rooftop garden with her father. Gosh, who brings their kid down to the garden at 1am with most of the lights off already?

Ah okay, that's about all for the past 2 days. I realised O levels are just 14 weeks away. =(

Hamsters.

Haha, in case you didn't know, my house now houses 2 new hamsters. =D

The 2 as of yet unnamed hamsters. They're like quite small la.

And I guess the only way to distinguish them is one is slightly bigger than the other. Haha.

And they're both hyperactive, like running around everywhere when they're out of their cage.

Although that's not a hamster, but I think he's still quite cute right? =D

Chinese O Lvl Oral Examinations.

I was going to start re-linking everybody and all that, but I got lazy halfway and thought ah I shall do it some other day, =) I usually blog hop around anyways.

Okay, shall start with Sunday where I woke up at the unbelievable time of 9am after going to sleep at 3am. But the sermon at Church was good, I mean, I didn't fall asleep or anything. =) And I can remember what the message was about okay. And lots of people reaffirmed/recommitted themselves. =D

Went for lunch at J8, then went back to Church for dance practice. I agree with Guan You when he says that Wei Ting's dance moves are way too sexy already. Bleah. Like, real hip-hop leh, not fake one. =(

Anyways, school again on Monday. Like, not in the mood to study you know? Haha. I should just get a job as a freelance professional photographer and spend the rest of my days taking pictures as and when I want. =D

Lessons are all forgotten. Er, went to Tampines Mall with Stephen and Denise after school to find a present for Geraldine. Was kind of stupid la, we thought of going to Vivo City first, then changed our mind after we entered the MRT station. So we went to the interchange and took 27 to Tampines Mall instead. But I met Fu Lin Sir on the way up, so it wasn't that wasted la. Haha.

Went to Tampines Mall, bought a handphone pouch for Geraldine from the Wallet Shop. Heehee. She thinks we're rich. =)

Went back towards Sengkang after that, and walked to Chee Hock's house with Stephen to visit him. Then listened to Chee Hock's description of how he got hit by the taxi. Thankfully nothing serious la.

Oh and played this Secret Code game thing with Jemaine and Xue Ee, and I won both of them cause I'm an expert at cracking the code. Haha. =P

Went home at around 7pm, and that was Monday.

Tuesday was Geraldine's birthday so Happy Birthday Geraldine. Haha, even though I really only know you through Stephen. ;D

Oh, there was 2 hours of Maths on Tuesday too. Excellent way to kill your brain cells la. After the like, first hour, your brain just wants to switch off/hibernate/go to sleep mode already.

There was Physic's practical too. Rolled some wo0den cylinder down a ramp and measured the time taken or something like that.

Lessons ended at around 2.30, went for lunch at Hougang Mall Food Court, then took 62 home.

Haha, Wednesday was, the day. =/ Er, PE lesson in the Morning was fun. Played floorball which was quite rough cause mostly guys. Haha.

Oh, and told cheesy stuff to Jemaine my girlfriend during Geography lesson! Haha. Like, I'm the peanut and you're the butter. Or you're the can of sardines and I'm the biscuit. Heehee. Then we shared the worksheet for Geography and she wrote like half of all the information into the wrong boxes! =X

Went for lunch with Denise, Yi Han, Lenson and Mr. Yeo at Hougang Mall food court after school. Haha, and we all found out that Lenson likes Felicia.

Then went back to school for the Oral Exam.

Haha, I was sitting down, looking at Heather and waiting for my turn, then I saw Heather getting up and the 2 invigilators discussing for a while. They straightened their papers, one of them pushed up his spectacles, and then one of them got up and went to the toilet. Like, -.- Anticlimax man. Blee.

Blah, oral on the whole went rather horribly, but haiyar, at least it's over. =)

Went to Serangoon Gardens with Stephen, Jun Han and Denise afterwards. Aston's again. I didn't eat cause Minghui is trying to save money. =( Haha, then again, I went back to Serangoon Gardens for dinner at Chomp Chomp with my family anyways. =P

Oh, and my sister took the same bus 136 as us on the way back home. Denise was like jumping up and down excitedly when she saw my sister la. -.- And then Airil, Mu Chen and Chit Min boarded the bus at the school bus stop and didn't know my sister was right next to them. Haha.

Went to Chomp Chomp for dinner, and I guess Sambal Sting Ray isn't exactly that great an idea when you're recovering from a sore throat, but the sting ray was so shiok! Haha. =X

Haha, kind of tired now. But it's like a sigh of relief now that the Chinese Orals are over already. =)

H.I. Musical.

Gosh it has been tiring for the past few days. And I haven't used the computer for such a long time too. Like, so many things have happened already. My father came back from Japan on Saturday, my sisters got 2 hamsters but haven't named them yet, Bill Gates stepped down from Microsoft, and a bunch of other random events which I've forgotten already.

But anyways, our performance for I Want To Be A Star: The Competition was on Wednesday. Our band name was Hotshoe and we performed an acoustic cover of View From Heaven by Yellowcard. Haha, and we got into top 3! Was not expecting to get into top 3, but yea! Our hard work on Saturday, Monday, and Tuesday paid off. =D Thanks to everyone whom wished us congratulations or good luck. =D

Went to the Drama Centre on Thursday and Friday cause we had to take photographs so we got to skip school but we unfortunately had to miss our lessons in school. =\

Seriously though, had lots of fun taking photos with Lenson, Ryan, Alvin, Ivan, View Meng, and Mr. Yeo. And also Wilson whom joined us on the actual day. I learned break dancing, hip-hop and beat boxing. ;) We also told lots of stupid jokes like: "Did you hear the joke about the vacuum cleaner? Yar, it sucks." And we filmed footage for a short film in the making, about The Search For Alvin or something like that. Heh. And played Mr Yeo's guitar singing whatever songs came to our mind for some time too. =D

I think there's too many stupid things to list down la. Like me serving out packet lunches as if they were gourmet items, or me shooting a commercial for Nikon (pronounced Nai-Kon), or break dancing/hip-hop in the dark. AH. I think everyone thinks I'm an extremely weird, lame, attention-seeking, psychologically unstable person now. I'm actually a very focused sensible mature evaluative and reasoning introspective person. Yup.

But we didn't just have fun la, I took at least 1324 pictures, not counting the hundreds I deleted on the spot, and now there's the daunting task of going through each and every picture to decide what to keep. I slept only for like 1am to 6am for all three days, but it's still not as bad as an NPCC Camp la, so it was survivable. =)

Sadly, my sore throat is back again. I think I've laughed too much already. Blah.

The Musical itself was great, I think it went rather well. And I saw the CEO/Founder of 77th Street. I saw her before at the Habitudes Experience! Haha, okay shall stop name-dropping or whatever that is.

Went for supper at Macdonald's at Hougang Mall after everything. What a way to threat a sore throat. Haha. And Jing Hao's working there. o.0 Then took 62 home, reached home at about 12.30am.

And Chee Hock got into an accident after the Musical, he went to play pool at Hougang Green and got knocked down by a taxi on his bicycle on his way back. But at least he's okay la, I think he's extremely lucky to only have a minor bone fracture, he must have an angel la. ;)

Hotshoe+Mr Yeo! Also known as Team Kakashi, but I don't watch Naruto so I have no idea.

Back To School.

Sigh, it's back to school again. It doesn't really seem like term 3 already, it doesn't even seem that the holidays have even started. I still feel as if I'm just beginning Secondary 4. Haha okay shall stop being so philosophical.

Spent Sunday at home sleeping. And recovering la. Drank countless glasses of water, and slept from the Morning until about Evening. My sore throat was still horrible though. =(

My hair was caught for being too long on Monday. Sighs. But I didn't cut my hair for about 3 months already la, so. Haha. I should have worn a hairclip like Chee Hock.

Lessons started immediately on the first day of school. And there was PE too, but unfortunately no one knew so no one brought PE attire anyways. Gosh, lessons were all bleach. I was like half asleep, cause I spent the entire Sunday just sleeping too. Haha. But okay la, spinning pens at the back of the class with Stephen keeps you awake. =)

Went to cut hair after school because there was about 2 hours to waste away before Social Studies Workshop, then went for lunch at Pepper Lunch, then went back to school.

Then when I was walking back to class Denise asked me a question.

Denise: Hey Minghui you cut your hair ah?!
Minghui: Er, yea...
Denise: SO UGLY!! HAHAHAHAHA!
Minghui:=\

Some people simply have no consideration for the feelings of others. Sighs.

Went back to class for the Social Studies Workshop. I think the workshop just sort of reiterates the source based question skills, with a different teacher and different materials. At least, can practice pen tricks with Stephen. Haha. =D

Stayed back to practice for Wednesday's competition performance. I think the song we're playing, View From Heaven by Yellowcard, is a nice song. Like, I didn't think it was a nice song last time, but after hearing it for a couple of times and seeing the lyrics, it's kind of sad and upbeat at the same time.

Practiced until 6+, then went back home.

Went to school today carrying a camera bag, a guitar bag, and my school bag. Haha. Kind of like, a challenge you know, need to keep switching your hands and maintain your balance and everything to accomplish various tasks like tapping your Ez-Link card. I succeeded in getting to school without dropping anything, or knocking anything. Heh.

Can't remember what I learned during lessons. Sighs. Okay, I guess I could remember what I did learn during lessons if I tried, but who wants to read such things? Haha. We had hot chocolate after English lesson though, a treat from Ms Quan. Awesome! Hot Chocolate is okay la, haha, but I prefer cold chocolate.

Ate lunch at the canteen with Mr Yeo, Lenson and Ryan. Haha. Laughed a lot over lunch too.

Practiced for our performance again after school. Hotshoe! Yea!! Haha. And messed around learning Lenson's violin a bit too. The strings are so small and spaced so close! Bleh.

Went to take a couple of photos of the rehearsal at the hall, then took 62 home with Denise. Hah, I'm such a nice guy man, taking the bus home with someone who thinks my hair is ugly. Sighs.

Haha, I feel so lethargic these past few days. Oh and I tried googling the sore throat/flu medicine I've been taking. Which is called Became or something like that. But I can't find anything online! Gah. Maybe I've been taking some horrible poison all this while!! Like, how can you know such things anyways, haha, it depends on how trustworthy your doctor is, and how trustworthy your doctor's supplier is, and how trustworthy your doctor's supplier's manufacuter is, and on and on. It's a huge list of people to be trustworthy. =O

But my sore throat's almost gone anyways. So that means I'll speak perfectly during Chinese O Level Oral Examinations. Hahaha. Unfortunately there's so many more things to do, and er, my holiday homework is not exactly but definitely or not completely on the contrary unsurely finished. :)

*Click*

I'm kind of sick of taking photos already. I think I've taken like, more photos during this holiday than in the past 6 months put together. And I've been to so many places I can't remember when I did what anymore. =( Good thing I have a blog. Haha.

I can rememer what I did this week though, cause it was pretty much the same. Spent Monday, Tuesday and Thursday taking photos of the H.I. Musical. I have about, 400 pictures of the musical rehearsal in the hall, not counting those that I deleted cause they were blur or pointless, or those that I deleted on the spot then cause of super blurriness and pointlessness. It's around 1000+ clicks of the camera shutter for the rehearsals alone. And it sort of gets increasingly harder to take nicely composed shots cause the nice pictures have already been shot. =\

But thankfully there's Ryan and Lenson to break the monotony. Hahaha. The three of us are forever flashing each other with our external flash units. And we told Denise that Ryan is from MDIS and is in school because he's Mr. Yeo's friend. =P

There was Geography extra lessons on Tuesday and Wednesday at 8.30am too. Haha. Got back our Geography mock exam results. Quite sad, I tied with Wan Ting and Yi Han at 41/50. =( Okay la, I didn't really expect to do so well because I didn't exactly study at all, unless you consider flipping through the textbook 10 minutes before the exam studying. I shall study hard for Geography in the future and regain my reputation! Next time.

Went to Little India on Wednesday after Geography, but that's in the previous post so I shall not bother.

Went to Vivo City on Thursday after taking photos for the Musical cause the three of us had nothing else better to do. Lenson and me both bought formal shirts from Zara Men at $89.90. I'm so in love my new shirt, the designs and colours are oh so adorable. *cough* And Ryan was like our fashion adviser. Hahaha. Then we went for dinner at Carl's Junior, went to the rooftop to attempt to take pictures of the sunset, but the Sun was blocked by the Harbourfront Tower. Blah. =X

Developed a flu and a blocked nose on Friday. Sneezing non-stop too. Then it developed further into a sore throat as well. I think it's all that junk food I've been eating or my irregular meal timings. Bleahs. Horrible. But I still ate cornflakes at 2am anyways cause I was hungry. Honey Stars! :)

Time to go catch my running nose. Haha. Yea cold joke, but I have a mild fever now anyways so it doesn't matter. =P
