Rooftops and Light Paintings.

Gah this is from about 1 month ago. Haha. But went to this new cluster of blocks opposite my house on the 30th of May to take pictures with Chee Sheng, Hao Xiang and Ryan. It was around night time la, because Ryan and me were at Old Changi Hospital in the Afternoon.

Anyways the cluster was relatively new, and people only started moving in this year, so haha there weren't many people around, and the rooftop access at the carpark was unlocked. =D I think it's probably locked now though..

The rooftop was pretty windy. The view wasn't very nice since it's the rooftop of a carpark, but then again it's okay la. Hahaha. Took stupid pictures at the top for a while then we went back down.

Minghui's ascension into heaven/hell, depending on whether you think Chee Sheng and Hao Xiang are angels or demons. =P

Since we had luck with the rooftop access from the carpark being unlocked, we tried going to two other blocks but their roof accesses were padlocked. So we gave up. Haha.

Went walking around, then we decided to go to the MRT station.

Who throws away a stuffed toy when moving in. =/

It was already around 11.30pm, so the MRT station was quite deserted la.

Then we played around with jumpshots and exposures.

"Okay on the count of three. Readyy ahh, oneee, twoo*snap*"-Priceless. Hahahaha.

Jumpshots were taken mostly with Ryan's camera, since he had two flashes, and long exposures with mine, since I had a wireless remote. =)

You should zoom in to see their faces. Hahahaha.

"Okay, try full power ah....*snap* AAHHH"

Hao Xiang floating away. Should photoshop a flying saucer above ah.

From this picture, you can conclude that Chee Sheng is the blackest. =P

Played around with light painting which is fun, but hard to create something other than random squiggles. =D

Left: Me, Right: Hao Xiang. Chee Sheng was holding the yellow light, Ryan was outlining us with the blue.

I have no idea why we were all wearing white that day.

Mount Rushmore. =D

We left at around 1.30am. Because Ryan's mother was coming to pick him up, and the mosquitoes were enjoying their buffet. Mosquito bites from Old Changi Hospital + Mosquito bites from Punggol = Torture. Had about 30+ bites all over la. I'm wearing long pants in the future hahaha.

Ryan in the middle of the road. Tsk tsk. Actually I was too la soo..

Ryan went home whilst Chee Sheng and Hao Xiang stayed over at my house.

=O Same cat. Hahaha.

Hao Xiang went to sleep at around 2.30am, Chee Sheng went to sleep at 5am, and I didn't go to sleep at all okay. Hahaha. Quite stupid since I'm staying awake at my own house. But haiyar, was going through all the Old Changi Hospital pictures and scaring myself anyways. Hahaha.

Snowie Before and After.

Before his haircut.

After his haircut.

Two different dogs! Hahahaha. Maybe I'll look super different too after going into NS. I don't plan to experiment with no hair anytime before that though. =)

Both pictures taken with Ryan's film camera. =D Don't know why both images are focused wrong laa. I think Snowie's white hair to hard to focus on already. And Snowie looks so depressed after his haircut. =X

Minghui Being Random.

Okay finally got around to developing the film I got from Ryan's camera a long long time ago. Most of the pictures are from the time I sent my digital camera for repair and borrowed Ryan's Minolta X-700.

Left: Me. Right: Ryan. I like the eyebrows hahahaha.

Haha I think it's an awesome camera, if only I had money to go buy a Nikon FM-10 ah.. It's quite challenging to take pictures with the X-700, cause you have to focus manually, check the shutter speed/aperture because changing ISO would mean changing film, and meter correctly. And you can't spam shots like crazy since a picture costs about 60 cents. =X A lot of my pictures turned out blurry and underexposed and all that la. But I think the pictures still look somewhat nice. =)

Didn't photoshop anything at all, besides adding the watermarks, cause i'm lazy I think all the pictures I took are just random snapshots. Hahaha.

I thought this sign looked weird, so I took a picture of it.

What? Rule of thirds?

Tried to take random people on the streets. Haha so scary what if they get angry and demand I delete the picture! =O

No idea where the other boot went to.

New skyscraper. Hahahahaha. Random.

"Eh Ryan stay there ah.." *spends 5 minutes trying to focus correctly*

Ryan on cellphone. Haha but blur la cause he moved. Or I moved. Or maybe I focused wrongly hahaha.

I think the colors from the film are awesome. =D

The *click* from the shutter when you press the button is very shiok also. More shiok than my D80 la. Hahaha.

Long exposure.

Wee tyco shots. Hahaha.

The signboard actually says "Hao Xiang Seafood Restaurant" which I've never realised before and hence took a picture of but forgot that the shutter speed at that level of light would kill the text and make it unreadable but anyways it says "Hao Xiang Seafood Restaurant" la. =D

Hahaha. Another random shot of Ryan. I think I got too many la. People might get the wrong idea. Blee.

Wrong focus. =/

Ryan playing my guitar. Also wrongly focused or motion blurred I think. But nevermind this has the soft focus effect. =D

Haha I think I'll probably edit some of the images here and post them to DeviantArt, so if you want to witness Minghui's awesome photoshopping skillz see better looking photographs you can go there. =P

Old Changi Hospital.

Went with Ryan to collect his tee-shirts he ordered online at Bugis Junction some Saturday back, and we decided to go to Old Changi Hospital to take pictures. =D

The bus ride was horribly long. I think we spent like 3 hours + taking buses around the entire Singapore that day la. From Bugis to Hougang, then from Hougang to Changi, from Changi back to Hougang, from Hougang to Punggol. Blah. I don't mind long bus rides, but after the first hour or so it gets really siann. =/

Anyways, we stopped outside the place, and we saw this:

Gasp. Can you see?

Photoshop. Hahahahaha. Okay the rest of my photos weren't photoshoped except for contrast and exposure and white balance la, so if you see anything unusual you know..

Ryan pointing at a sign.

Graffiti was everywhere around the place, most of the window panes were broken, ceilings with holes, all that stuff.

A chair in the middle of the room.

The left hand has a lot of fingers. =O

Taken by Ryan. =)

Left = Me, Right = Ryan

I think this was pretty scary, cause you wouldn't expect the labels below the cupboards to still be there after 20+ years.

Look closely. Hahaha.

Ryan was lucky enough to capture two hands appearing out of a window. This picture was photoshopped caused there was some er graffiti on the right wall.

Dunno whose hands arh. *looks around innocently*

When walking at one of the common ward areas, Ryan suddenly went: "Woah.", then I looked at his direction and went: "Woah."
Cause we saw this.
No I didn't bring a barbie doll there and burnt it halfway just to take this photograph. It was..just there.. *cue dramatic music*

The top floor was the scariest part for both of us. We were like climbing the stairs when we realised that this herb, incense kind of smell was getting stronger. Then at the top we saw candles.
Probably bought from Ikea. -.-

But the incense smell was very strong, and there was this slightly open door, and the room was pitch black except for 1 candle on the floor in the darkness. Suddenly to the left we heard a lady chanting. So, we turned and ran laa. Hahahahaha. At that time it was about 7pm already, so we left to Changi beach to take more pictures.

HDR picture.

Yup that's about it. You can find out more about Old Changi Hospital by Google searching, haha. Turns out it's been around for about 70 years? Slated to be torn down soon though. =/
