Busy Eating.

Haven't been blogging for more than a week already. =X Lots of random events to blog about, so it will be a long post. =) And plenty of pictures too so if you have like a 56k internet connection then you should disable photos or something. Ah whateverr. Oh and all food described in this post will be italicized.


Anyways, when I'm not going out doing stuff I'm wasting my time away at home doing anything but homework. =\ I think my room's too distracting, too much stupid pointless unproductive things to do.

Like, taking pictures of Snowie. I think he's very afraid of my camera now cause the flash keeps blinding his eyes.

Or I'm messing around with Virtual DJ.
Dam cool la, allows you to do a whole bunch of effects, crossovers, samples, mixing, and a bunch of other audio related things. ;) It's an awesome time waster too.


Went to Parkway Parade on Monday for dinner. Ate at this steamboat thing. Gosh. The food is okay la, but everything there is highly overpriced. Like, since when did ice water cost 30cents? Sigh. The steamboat was nice though. =)

Then went grocery shopping at Giant. Whilst waiting at the cashier spamming some random pen trick, this elderly man and lady were like looking at me and trying to catch my eye. =O

Then when I looked up and saw them looking at me the lady asked :"Can I borrow your pen?"

Me being such a gracious and wonderful person *cough* I replied :"Of course" and gave her the pen which I was spinning. Haha. =D

Then she used the pen to write on some lucky draw forms before returning it to me and saying something like :"Oh because you were twirling it and all, thank you."

Haha, although I'd prefer pen spinning to twirling, it's still cool man.


Went for squad meeting on Tuesday at Kovan mac. Nothing much la, but we discussed the skit for campfire performance. Went to play Defence Of The Ancients at this LAN shop near Kovan, gosh I haven't played that game for almost a year already. So many new items and heroes la. Blah. Teamed with Hao Xiang and Jun Liang against Chee Sheng and Wei Kit.

Joshua was such a computer addict he got the most kills, but his team lost because Chee Sheng has never played Defence Of The Ancients before. Haha. And I think I killed 3 people and died 10 times. =X Mostly due to Joshua backstabbing me and me not even knowing. Sigh.


Went to take pictures of the HI Musical rehearsals on Wednesday. Met Lenson in the Morning at his house and walked to school. Got to meet Ryan who's a photographer and guitar-player too. Awesome, haha. The three of us were like talking and playing around flashing each other with our external flash units. Unfortunately my flash unit is the lousiest la.

Haha, stayed in the canteen and talked with Ryan and Lenson for about an hour. Haha. From cameras to games to computers to lots of other random things.

Then went down to Downtown East after that for a chalet with my family. Feels weird going for a chalet with your family, but it's quite fun la. Ordered 2 pizzas for lunch. =D Lazed around the chalet for a while, then went out to explore around the new E! Hub.

There was a care bear meet and greet session, but unfortunately I missed it. =(

Walked around E! Hub which has like cinemas, bowling alleys, an ice-skating rink, all the other entertainment stuff. Then we went to New York for dinner.

and this seafood platter also for 2 people.
=D I was super full by the end la, and we managed to finish everything with enough room for cotton candy.
Haha, the raw salmon and crab were awesome, and the chicken too. The ribs were not glazed with any sauce though, so it was kind of dry.

Went to the arcade at the 4th floor after dinner and tried to play the soft toy grabbing machine. The one where you press the up down button to try and grab the soft toy. Haha. I think we spent like $6 just trying to get this Winnie The Pooh one. But it's impossible la. Like, we got so close that the hooks actually grazed past Winnie The Pooh's shirt, but did not grab him up cause the hooks all got no strength one. -.-

Then, because we had nothing better to do, we caught a late night movie at 10:45pm. Kung Fu Panda! Haha. It's a hilarious show la. Definitely worth watching. And the tickets only cost $6, and the cinema was quite deserted, should watch late night movies more often. =)

Went back to our chalet after that, and slept at around 2am. Because it's a family chalet la, so never ton. But I woke up at an insane time of 6.30am to go catch the Sunrise at Pasir Ris Park. And naturally I brought my camera along.

Of course, you're probably thinking that Minghui taking pictures = stupid pictures of random nonsensical objects of no meaning or purpose; like some stick stuck in a bottle lying on the beach or something.

And that is exactly what I have done.

Saw this weird looking thing lying on the grass. A couple of bees were buzzing around it too. Then I looked up and saw even more of these things.

I guess it's a flower la. -.-

Oh, I did take pictures of the Sunrise la. Eventually. Haha.





I found these starfish in a rock pool on top of a rock(duh). Tried like 30 different shots of the starfish but almost all came out blur. =X I think there's a small crab in the picture too.

Oh, and whilst I was happily taking pictures, this guy cycled past me and stopped. Then he turned around and told me something along the lines of "if you want to take pictures of the Sunrise, now is the best time."

Haha. I think my expression is best described as : O.o

He started talking about all sorts of photography things, like the D300 he uses but forgot to bring along, the best place in Pasir Ris park to take Sunrise shots. And throughout the conversation my expression didn't really change much. Haha. Maybe I'm not used to having strangers come up to me and comment on how to take pictures la. He even asked me if I knew about the Rule of Thirds. -.-

Went for breakfast at Macdonald's after taking enough pictures and saying goodbye to that guy. Yea I think Mcgriddles is nice.

Haha, I think I've posted way too many pictures already. But ahhh whatever. =P Took bus 3 back home, then rested a while and went out in the Afternoon for lunch. Went to Jack's Place at Causeway Point. =D Ate some Mushroom and Chicken baked rice. Didn't take any picture though, cause I didn't bother to bring my camera along.

Okay, then I went back home and lazed around. Went out for dinner at Sentosa. Haha. Actually we contemplated eating at Food Republic but decided on eating just 豆花 and going to the Kou Fu in Sentosa for dinner. But because we took such a long time to get to the food court that it was like closed by the time we reached. Blee. Haha. Walked around Sentosa anyways.

There was this group of children walking in front of us, then when the fireworks from the Songs Of The Sea lit up, they were all like :"AAAAHH AAAAAHHH!!!" They were super enthusiastic and happy just to see fireworks. I don't remember being like that when I was young. Sighs.

Went back to Vivo City, walked around some more, then went for supper at Toast Box. Haha. Ate Kaya Toast and Teh Bing. More food. =)


Went back to Vivo on Friday. -.- Watched Kung Fu Panda again, with Denise and Stephen and Geraldine *eyebrows more repeatedly up and down* Lol. Had lunch at Food Republic, then went to the arcade and played around. Unfortunately I won everybody in some weird The Fast and The Furious racing game which is horribly slow. Heehee. =P

Took a train down to Bishan for cell group after that. Haha, message was quite funny. Cause it was about BGR. But it's like mostly common sense stuff la.

Went back home after that, but stopped by at the Pasar Malam near my house.

Haha. =P More food.

Went for lunch at Carl's Junior at Big Splash on Saturday.

Tried the Western Bacon burger. =D

Then we went to Mount Faber and Henderson Crossing. It's that new bridge connecting Kent Ridge to Mount Faber la.


Anyways, went to some lookout point on Mount Faber first cause we got lost somewhere. But from the lookout point you can see the bridge so we made our way there. Haha.

The bridge is quite nice la. The design is such that you can't really see any sharp corners and jutting edges, it's all flowing like waves. Hence it's called Henderson Waves. =)


But I think the place is a magnet for photographers already. I saw this couple having their wedding photos taken by a photographer with D3 and this huge bulky lens, and this guy with 300mm and D300 with battery grip, and a bunch of other Canon Eos users and a D80 guy too. Okay, I guess half the people reading won't know what I'm talking about. Heh.


Wanted to walk the entire trail until Kent Ridge Park, but my family were all quite tired after getting lost in Mount Faber already. Haha.

Wanted to go to the Suntec City Convention Center for the IT show, but I changed my mind at the last moment because I don't want to depress myself seeing all the awesome gadgets and knowing that I can't afford any. =(

In the end we decided to go to the Botanical Gardens. =) Super adventurous right? Lol.

Haha. The bigger tortoise must be like : -.- Then the smaller one must be like : =P

WAH. LOOK at the way that girl can ride the bike without touching the pedals.

Haha, the dog is looking at me!! I think this was an extremely tyco shot cause the dog only looked at me for about 3 seconds and I simply happened to be passing by in between 2 trees and the couple happened to both be looking the other way. =)

Okay, that's about what I did for the past week. I think I've gained at least a kilogram from all that food. Haha.

June Holidays. =)

Yes, June holidays have finally begun. This will be a long post, so take a break every 20 minutes and look out your window or something.


Okay, went to Stephen's house last Friday in the afternoon. Yea! Went to make an RSVP MX. Haha, so now I can spin with both hands simultaneously. =D

Went for badminton after that at Sengkang CC. Started feeling drained and exhausted after playing for like 10 minutes, probably cause of cycling the day before. =X And for some reason I kept missing the shuttlecock larr. Horrible.

Went for dinner at Mos Burger! Yea, haha. Then the rest when home whilst Stephen, Denise and me went to look for a birthday cake for Rachel. Went around to the various cake shops in Sengkang looking for whatever kinds of cakes that a girl would like. The two of them were pestering me to buy a heart-shaped strawberry cake la. Can you imagine a heart-shaped cake as a birthday cake? Eeech. For someone 2 years older than me too. =P

Met up with my sister at Sengkang interchange, then took a bus down to Church.

Celebrated Rachel's birthday with cell group, cut the cake, ate the cake, then as there was no message during Cell group, played board games. Haha. Played Taboo and laughed cause the guys supposed think on the same wavelength. =D


Went to catch the Chronicles Of Narnia: Prince Caspian on Saturday with my family. There was this like family promotion thing at Shaw Theatre to promote family bonding and all that. Tickets were quite cheap, and included popcorn, drinks and goody bags. Haha. But bleah, there were lots of children around with their parents, and I feel so old there la. =(

Movie was quite okay la, differed quite a bit from the book, but it's still worth catching as a family movie I guess. CGI effects were quite awesome too. Although the cinema was filled with kids, they weren't really noisy. I think the parents like the 2 fathers sitting behind me laughed louder and longer than most of the kids. Ironic. =D

Went for lunch/dinner at Pepper Lunch. Was about 4pm already. Went to Chinatown after that and shopped around for clothes. But I didn't buy any cause I was saving for a camera. =)


Went to buy my D80 on Sunday! =D Haha, went to Suntec City after buying my camera, then my sister got her iPod Classic 80gb at Epicenter Suntec. Went to this book fair at the Suntec Exhibition Centre, and the book fair was like "World Book Fair Day 2008" or something like that.

But when I went in I realised all the books were Chinese. Like. Eeee. All Chinese storybooks. =X And there were those educational software vendors too. Bad enough that there's English educational software with things like :"Which is the apple?", but Chinese educational software? "哪一个是苹果?" Bleh. I had a headache almost immediately after I went in cause there were all those "Boing, Boing" sounds from the educational computers. =X

Then I saw this stall selling books from Times. Yea Times! Definitely selling some English books for those horrible in Chinese people like me. =) But when I neared I realised it was all assessment books. Gah. -.-

Took 851 home. The bus ride was quite cool, that City Shuttle bus thing, no other stops along the way. =)


Went to Plaza Singapura on Monday with Lenson and Ivan to buy Ivan's guitar tuner. Walked around the shopping mall waiting for the Yamaha shop to open, then Ivan spent $29 buying his tuner which is like -50hz - +50hz accurate. Then we went for lunch at Subway. Eat Fresh.

Because we didn't have any next appointment to rush to, and nothing else to do in the afternoon, and Lenson and me brought our cameras along, we went to Fort Canning Park to walk around. Haha, shall post pictures cause I can. =P

Wooden bombs and missiles.

Walked to Funan after that. Bleh. Going to Funan 2 days in a row gets boring even for a computer geek. Walked around the mall again, looking at all the awesome stuff that's super expensive. Gah. Then walked to Clarke Quay and took a train to Ivan's house.

Spent a long time tuning his guitar cause his tuner is so accurate and the guitar was new. Then taught Ivan a bit on chords, then went home.


Went to Sentosa on Tuesday with Stephen, Chee Hock, Ivan, Lenson, View Meng, Jun Han, Xue Ee, Jemaine and Yi Han. Was a gathering with Sec 4 Mata too, but I didn't go cause the Sentosa gathering was planned by Xue Ee way earlier. And there was pen spinning gathering at Singapore Poly too. Bleah.

Took the Sentosa Express, then walked to Siloso beach. Played volleyball first and I played horribly cause I've not touched a volleyball since 2007. Haha. That sounds dramatic. =D

Haha, it started drizzling on and off, and we got tired of trashing the other team in volleyball already (heh heh), so we played soccer instead. View Meng's toe started bleeding cause he stepped on a 100 Plus can.

Then went into the sea, swimming, playing, doing stupid things like throwing wet sand at each other (which is really painful cause surface tension compacts the sand and slightly solidifies it into a viscous liquid). Wah. All the guys suddenly target me to mua chee la. Like, drag me out of the water and roll me around in the sand. Then whilst I was posing for a picture with Koon Tat the rest of them tried to pull my pants down and ended up ripping the buckle off. -.- So I had to like, fold my pants to keep it from dropping down. Haha.

Walked to Imbiah lookout and had lunch there. The place was quite crowded with tourists even on a Tuesday. Then we went back to Vivo.

Discussed for a while on what to do next, then decided to go play bowling at Kovan Superbowl. Haha. A few of them went to play whilst the rest of us went to the arcade and played stupid money wasting games. Oh and then we all started playing Dance Dance Revolution for some reason. Gosh. I've never touched that game before and I lost horribly. =P

Haha. And this guy was like watching us play and laugh at DDR for a while, then he inserted a coin and started dancing freestyle and showing off all those moves. Like, turn around also can dance, can jump in the air and do a split with his legs, woah. I think he must have spent a lot of time and money practicing, but not bad man. I don't mind being able to write "DDR pro" under my job resume someday. =D

Watched them eat dinner at the hawker center, then took 62 home with Denise. Super tired.


Yea, that's about everything. Haven't touched that mountain of homework yet though. Bleh.

Yay! Okay in a spiraling inwards clockwise direction (haha). Tripod stand, Lowepro bag, D80 Kit box, instruction manuals, lots of plastic bags, this awesome greyish cast kind of thing to protect the camera, camera strap, SB-600 External Flash, Lexar 4gb SD card with card reader, lens pen, lens bag, batter charger and wires. =)

Oh and there's the camera too la, but obviously I was using the camera to take the picture.

Went to Funan DigitaLife Mall on Sunday to buy it. Weee. Heehee. Okay there's some Nikon promotion from now till 30th June and a D80 Kit with all that free stuff sells for $1888, so I made a deal with my parents to pay $800. =\

Haha, but when we went to the shop the person there sold us the same kit with external flash and UV filter for $1742 for some reason. =D Although I'm still kind of broke now. Sigh.

But anyways, I have a new camera! Haha, going to start spamming pictures already!

Examinations.

Haha yay 2 weeks of freedom from school starts today. =)

Okay, anyways. Monday was Chinese O level Paper 1 and 2. I have no idea if it was easy or hard la. Haha. My hands were freezing though, even though I was wearing a sweater. Like, my hands are colder than people who did not wear a sweater? Lenson suggested I wear gloves instead, blee.

Tuesday was Maths Mock Exam Paper 1 and 2. Gosh, there was no break in between so I spent 3 hours in the air-conditioned hall. Yeech. Maths was actually much easier than those preliminary papers they tested us on, but I still forgot how to do some questions la. =X

English Oral was on Tuesday too. Went rather, normally I guess. Heehee. Made some stupid mistakes when pronouncing elaborate but I corrected myself. Haha. And I went off talking about education and whatever when the conversation topic's about toys. =D

Wednesday was Social Studies and A Maths. But I don't take A Maths so I could go home early. =P Social Studies was okay, hopefully. Went for breakfast at Macdonald's with Xue Ee, Li Jing and Fiona. Erh, Li Jing and Xue Ee drank sugar and creamer with their tea and coffee. Like, 6 packets of sugar and 4 packets of creamer? Yeech. Diabetic.

Haha. I had this awesome plan for Wednesday and Thursday. Watch movies and use the computer on Wednesday, then study hard for Geography on Thursday. I successful used the computer and watched Anamorph and A Walk To Remember on Wednesday, for about 7 hours non-stop. =D Addiction.

Then Wednesday evening Chee Hock asked if I wanted to go cycling on Thursday. Hahaha.

Ended up going cycling with Chee Hock, Lenson, Ivan, View Meng, Mu Chen, Malvina and Ling Tong. Haha, cycled down Tampines road and back. But View Meng and Ling Tong left in a taxi early cause View Meng had to be back early and Ling Tong sprained her ankle.

Oh and laughed quite a lot too when Mu Chen fell down. Haha I feel so evil. =)

Cycled to Seng Kang, then went around to Ivan's, Chee Hock's and Malvina's houses before cycling back to Lenson's and taking 136 back. Didn't feel as tired as before, must be cause I'm healthy! =D

Reached home at about 8pm, and at this point you must be thinking:"Ho! This is when Minghui starts studying like mad for Geography on Friday! Evil Scheming Guy."

But no, I went out for dinner/supper. Blee. Went to a Kopitiam at Hougang, ate Nasi Briyani, then went home.

Reached home at about 10pm, and went to sleep. But I couldn't get to sleep at all. Bleh. Had this horrible dream that I remember nothing about except that it was horrible, and woke up at 4am trying to get back to sleep again.

Okay Geography today was quite okay la. Spent the last 10 minutes frantically rushing through the last part question, but other than that I'm confident of passing. =) I forgot about a bunch of stuff though, like USA's GNP per capita in 2002 and I forgot which country was it that was a developing country but has a high literacy rate.

And that's the end of going to school early in the morning for 2 weeks! Although there's still that huge pile of homework consisting of TYS and worksheets and whatever. =\

June Holidays.

Yea school's officially over!!!! No more boring school lessons!!!!! No more waking up early in the Morning!!! No more stupid tests or exams or whatever!!!! HAHAHA!!




Okay, shall stop imagining that I'm still a sec 1/2/3 now. =(

There's a huge new mountain of homework that simply created itself over the past few days. Mount Holiday Homework or something.

And there's mock exams for nearly the whole of next week. =\

And who can forget GCE O Level Chinese Paper 1 & 2 on Monday? Blaaaaahhh.

Past week was more or less focused on Chinese lessons mostly. But at least we have other lessons too not like some schools which have intensive Chinese from 8am to 2pm daily.\


Oh yes, went to eat Sakae Sushi on Wednesday with Stephen, Bernice, Karen and View Meng. All you can eat buffet. Heh. Ate until super full, then played stupid games to decide who gets to eat more sushi. I think I lost the most la. Haha. And there was this greenish stringy stuff that Stephen says is seasoned seaweed and is nice, but I think it tastes disgustingly horrible. Yeech.


And there was Sports Carnival on Thursday. Didn't participate in anything cause both the badminton and floorball teams I was in lost in the heats already. Blee. And the Yellow Falcons lost to the Red Kites by 5 points. Haha. =X

Lots of flaming and remarks about the different school houses too. But seriously, why are people fighting over which house is better or whatever? Does it really matter? It's not like I'm going to lose my pride or my mental health or anything. At the end of the day, you'd simply be proving your childishness by bickering about school houses. At the end of the day, it's all supposed to be in good fun right? -.-

Didn't have anything much to do after the Sports Carnival, so went to play badminton at Sengkang CC. =D It's like the only CC with air-conditioned badminton courts that I know of, but I didn't really feel the air-con, cause I'm too hawt already. =)

Played for about 2 hours. I think I'm a better doubles player cause I always have to run after the shuttlecock when playing singles. Or maybe it's just that Keane/Jun Han/Stephen all love to make people run. =\ And I always hit out when playing singles la. -.-


Friday was more intensive Chinese extra lessons. School ended at 10am for sec 1 -3s. Grr. But okay la, learned lots of awesome Chinese idioms that I'm so going to regurgitate out during the exam. Heehee.

Oh and went to celebrate Hui Qin's birthday after that at Han's. Haha. The same people that went to celebrate Lenson's birthday the other time + Stephen were there. Then whilst eating at Han's Lenson mentioned this gardener that was watering the plants with this hose, but because of the angle the hose was hidden, so, you know? Lots of stupid jokes are tsunami, water gun, high tide, high pressure, those kind of things. =D

Went for worship practice at 5pm. Message was about PNNK. =) Went for supper at a Kopitiam in Bishan with cell group, then went for supper again at the Kopitiam opposite Punngol Park with my sister and father cause they didn't eat dinner. Haha, but I'm not so greedy la, only ate once.


Okay that's everything. Don't think I'll be blogging until next Friday or something when exams are 'over'. =)

Practice.

Okay blee, past few days went by blazingly fast. =X In fact, it went at the amazing constant speed of 1 second per second. No acceleration or deceleration. ;D

Lessons were nothing worth noting throughout the week, except that all PE and LCE lessons are replaced by Chinese in preparation for the upcoming O level Chinese Examinations. =( Kind of unsettling to think than in around 1 week's time I'll be sitting for the paper already. =(

The school's pretty hyped up about the Sports Carnival this coming Thursday, so there's house practice and everything. Haha, signed up for Floorball with Chee Hock, Ivan and Lenson, and signed up for Badminton with Eugene, Chee Sheng and Hao Xiang.

There was Chinese extra lessons on Tuesday, Science extra lessons on Wednesday followed by house practice until 6, then floorball heats which my team lost miserably with a score of 0 - 1. =( But it was a good effort la, we were really close to scoring too anyways, if only Mr Ong was not playing for the other team.

Went to play badminton after school on Friday with Stephen, Chee Sheng, Hao Xiang and Joshua. Ho Ming joined us and trashed us all even though his leg was injured. =X But we got lots of tips and advice on badminton. Ha.

Went off at 5+ for worship practice. Combined youth meeting was great, although it was kind of stressful playing in a band where I barely know the people and everyone's older than me and more pro. =X Haha, but it was cool, and I got to meet people from the other SA Churches in Singapore.

And there was supper after that. Ha. Free Food. =D Was super hungry cause I didn't eat dinner cause of badminton. And I met a girl named Beatrice from Eagles Youth whom was promoting an upcoming youth conference. Haha, I remember seeing her on stage at iHope last year! =)

Woke up on Saturday morning and I could barely move my left hand la. My entire left arm was aching pretty horridly. I think it's because of the floorball/badminton/guitar. Or a combination of the three. Especially badminton where I was happily swinging the racket around and the electric guitar was also slung on my left shoulder. Couldn't even move my fingers without feeling a twinge of pain, so I naturally couldn't spin pens with my hand anymore. =(

What do you do when you can't spin a pen with your left hand? Spin with your right hand! Haha. I think I can do finger pass on both hands slightly better now. =D

Pretty uneventful afternoon, I couldn't really type on the comptuer so I watched National Treasure 2 instead. =) Finished Christine by Stephen King, and did bunch of other random things. Went for dinner at some place which I've forgotten already. =X

Woke up early on Sunday for Church. Church was okay, went for lunch near J8, then went around to the library and walked around J8 for a while. Went to Vivocity after that, walked around more, then renewed Sentosa membership and had dinner at Sentosa. =)

Monday was a public holiday. =D But I woke up at 7am to go play badminton/captain's ball. Waking up at 7am on a Public Holiday is an abomination. But haiyar, still at least I won't revert to my usual pattern of sleeping after midnight and waking after noon. =)

Played badminton and captain's ball at Kovan CC until noon, then went for lunch at Macdonald's. Wanted to buy those spongebob cards they sold at Kovan and look for pens, but the shop was closed cause it was a public holiday. =X Took 136 home.

Went for dinner at Thompson Road, at this Indian Cuisine Restaurant. =D

Haha, yay okay I'm done. It's quite unnerving to think that in exactly less than a week now, I'll be sitting for O Level Chinese Paper 2. =\
